Hey guys, welcome to the first ever episode of Subconsciously. My name is Shea, and I will be your host for this podcast. You're probably wondering, who are you? What is this podcast even about? Why are you here? Well, I'll tell you who I am. My name is Shea. I'm 21 years old and I've always been the girl who's shared her personal opinions and advice with friends consistently, their voice memos and videos.
To answer [00:01:00] your next question, what is this podcast even about? It's about sharing real human experiences. It's mainly going to be experiences that I've gone through, experiences that were shared with me from guests in future episodes, and experiences within our world. This podcast is about diving into vulnerable and not so vulnerable conversations and topics within this world.
It's about diving into different perspectives on how to navigate life as we all discover our purposes or gain some knowledge along the way. This isn't a podcast about the psychology of the brain or anything like that, but this podcast is like the analogy of you're having a conversation with your best friend.
and you're having a really deep conversation. You're possibly crying, they're possibly crying, and you say [00:02:00] something that just makes you think, huh, I have no idea where that came from. To answer your last question, why am I here? I'm here because I've always loved helping people through their problems. I think of myself as an unlicensed therapist.
Which is funny because originally, I wanted to be a counselor. That's what I wanted to do with my life. But outside of this podcast, I'm actually a community support worker. For those who don't know what a community support worker is, it's a worker who helps adults with mental and physical disabilities.
And within that job, I also work with a lot of different people with as complex emotions as I do. And even if just one thing sticks with you throughout this whole podcast journey, I want it to be something that unifies us as human beings [00:03:00] from all backgrounds. I want this podcast to be something that unifies us in gaining perspective from one another.
I want this podcast to be something that unifies instead of divides. I want this podcast to be a place where we can all feel safe and comfortable. within a world that sometimes doesn't feel that way. So that's it guys. I've told you who I am. I've told you what this podcast is about, and I told you why I'm here.
I'm so glad you took the time today to listen to what this podcast is going to be about. I can't wait to share my experiences, the world's experiences with you and take you on this journey.
